A Christening For Two

26 Apr

The lady who ordered this cake (her name was also Betty) wanted soft colors with shades of blue and a Cross in the center. The Cross was white chocolate and the flowers were off white buttercream so they would match. Cake flavor, classic butter with almond buttercream frosting. Congratulations to the parents of these 2 fine baby boys.

Baby Shower and a Christening

27 Aug

I made 2 doz cupcakes for a baby shower. Flavors were chocolate with mocha buttercream and yellow butter cake with lemon buttercream. The booties were piped with buttercream frosting.

This is a 9″ 3 layer almond butter cake with almond frosting. No writing on this one  just blue roses and tiny white fondant flowers and a lace design. Made for a baby boy’s christening.

2 cakes – One Christening

29 May

To celebrate Aaron’s christening I made 2 flavors of cake. A yellow butter cake with vanilla frosting and a chocolate cake with fudge  frosting. Both cakes had a cross made of white chocolate and blue and white  fondant flowers. The tiny blue hearts were also cut from fondant.

A Girly Pink and White

15 May

I had the pleasure of making this baptism cake this weekend  for a beautiful baby girl named Tully (pronounced 2-lee). Flavors were yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream. All the pink and white flowers and butterfly were made of  fondant.

Pink Roses for Karsyn Ann

16 Jan

My first cake for 2011.

What a nice way to start the new year, creating a cake for a baby girls baptism. The cake flavor was a family favorite, classic butter with raspberry buttercream filling and almond frosting. The flowers were buttercream and the cross is made using white chocolate. Monogram and numbers are fondant. Size: 2-10″ rounds.

A Communion Book Cake

26 May

This cake was made to look like an open book. I used a 9×13 pan with the open book pan on top giving me the shape I need. The page edges were brushed with gold petal dust. The cross was molded white chocolate, flowers were fondant. Cake flavor, chocolate with raspberry butter cream filling and iced in vanilla butter cream. A gold ribbon was used as a book marker.

An Irish Christening

21 Oct

 Baby Boy Christening

The Mother found a design on another website and asked me to use it as inspiration for her sons cake.  She wanted a few additions added to it since they were Irish, like the white shamrocks. The cake was iced in a soft blue butter cream. The cross,  monogram and shamrocks  were made of fondant and the tiny piping  was white butter cream.
