Buttercream Ruffles

This cake was given as a gift to the bride from a dear family friend.  Cake flavors chosen by the bride were (6″) red velvet with cream cheese filling, (9″) yellow butter cake and the 12″ bottom, chocolate cake all iced in vanilla buttercream. Gold ribbon circled the center cake with fresh flowers on the top tier finished off the design.

Owl Birthday Cake

I love owls, so when my friend ask me if I could bake and decorate a cake for her with an owl on it, of course I said yes.

Cake flavor, lemon butter cake with lemon buttercream. The owl is fondant.

 

Mary LeAnn’s 21st Birthday Cake

I can’t believe this young lady is now 21. I have been making cakes for her quite a few years. Her Aunt Mary always orders her birthday cake. The cake is marble with vanilla buttercream, flowers are roses in shades of pink with violets, all are buttercream. The sides are trimmed with a lace design.
