A Communion Book Cake

26 May

This cake was made to look like an open book. I used a 9×13 pan with the open book pan on top giving me the shape I need. The page edges were brushed with gold petal dust. The cross was molded white chocolate, flowers were fondant. Cake flavor, chocolate with raspberry butter cream filling and iced in vanilla butter cream. A gold ribbon was used as a book marker.

A Golfing Baby Shower

21 May

Living here in golf country it seems the natural thing to do, have a baby shower theme with golf. This cake combines flowers with mini golf balls made of butter cream.  The (11×15) yellow butter  cake iced in a soft blue vanilla butter cream was squared off  and each square  was centered with a decoration. The flag & club were purchased.

Bride & Groom Cake

20 May

This cake was made for a bridal luncheon where the groom was also invited but being in the Army they were not sure he would make it.  The flavor was yellow butter cake with almond frosting, buttercream  and fondant flowers. The Army emblem was a laminated image, the dog tags were fake (created by my son) added to the design.

Karamie’s Wedding

14 May

The wedding reception was held at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst, NC.  This is such a great place to hold a party, the room is filled with natural light and has lots of space even for a dance floor. It looks equally pretty in the evening with the soft lighting.

The wedding cake had a simple wave design topped with a monogram B. Flavors were yellow butter cake filled with chocolate fudge frosting and iced in vanilla/almond buttercream. The flowers were from Maggie’s Farm.

The grooms cake (12×18 with a 9×13 on top). The flavor, chocolate with vanilla buttercream. Designed with a laminated ECU on top  to celebrate the grooms school colors of purple and gold. Fondant stars were added for more color.

The tables were covered with beautiful dark purple cloths.

One Cake,2 Occasions

7 May

This cake celebrates 2 occasions. Since it’s Mother’s Day this weekend and her Mom’s Birthday, the customer wanted to celebrate both . Some call her Mom, to others she answers to Grammie. The 9 ” 3 layer yellow butter cake was iced in vanilla butter cream. Flowers are buttercream and fondant.

40th Birthday Cake

1 May

No black for this 40th birthday. Gina is a beautiful lady who loves color.

So, since this  was the 1st day of May,  I made it with lots of bright  flowers and a butterfly. Most of the flowers are butter cream with the smaller ones cut from fondant along with a fondant butterfly. The size 11×15, the flavor, a chocolate marble cake with vanilla butter cream frosting.
