Cakes For Thanksgiving Day

21 Nov

Most of the flowers were made from buttercream, the tiny ones are fondant. The leaves, turkey and pumpkins are fondant .      Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Yellow Roses for Mama

12 Nov

When I started this cake I didn’t know how I was going to decorate it. I make so many sheet cakes it’s hard sometimes to come up with a design. Some people like sheet cakes, others not, but they are easier to serve for a crowd.  So I began by making a few yellow buttercream roses in different sizes. The design just kind of emerged after that. Not really original but I used up all the roses and my customer loved it. The cake flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream.

Zebra Stripes & Dots

9 Nov

Everyone seems to love zebra stripes and hot pink.

The small tiered cake had 2 flavors, top tier, yellow butter cake, bottom was a family favorite chocolate. Frosting was vanilla buttercream.

The 11×15 sheet cake,  yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream.

Hair Salon Cupcakes

3 Nov

   Lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream.

I’m glad I only had a dozen of these to make. Making all the little things ( hand molded from fondant) to go on top was a little crazy but I do like how they turned out and my friend loved them too.

Hunting Cake

3 Nov

This young man loves to hunt, so it made a great theme for me to use. I tried to combine Fall with hunting. I didn’t want to cover the whole cake in camo so I divided it in half , which also gave me a good place for the writing. All the decorations ( leaves, hunter & dog) were cut from fondant. Cake flavor, yellow butter with vanilla buttercream, cake size, 11×15.
