It’s a little late to post this picture since St Patrick’s Day has passed but here it is anyway. Every year this customer wants a cake with this little fellow on it. So each year i strive to make him just a little different.

90th Birthday Cakes

26 Mar

Cake #1 was made for a man who loves chocolate cake & chocolate frosting. The 11×15 2 layer cake was filled and frosted with a rich fudge butter cream. The yellow flowers were butter cream, everything blue was fondant.

Cake #2 was made for a lady who loves beautiful flowers. I baked a single layer of yellow butter cake (11×15 ) topped it with a single 6″ layer and frosted them with vanilla butter cream. I made lots of butter cream flowers in different colors for a cascade. I added a ribbon bow at the back.

This was a fun cake to do, especially since i do love cats. The birthday girl was going to see Alice in Wonderland (the movie) as part of her birthday party, so i thought a cat on her cake was purrfect. The cake was yellow  with vanilla butter cream frosting, the cat & stars were cut from fondant, the flowers are butter cream.

The 50 was handmolded from fondant and brushed with gold petal dust. Wires were inserted while it was soft so it would stand up.
