The colors needed for this cake were red & black and since it was near Christmas I went with the red poinsettia. Rev. Dixon was quite pleased with the cake. He usually orders his own birthday cake, his reason ” he wanted a good tasting cake”. The flowers & leaves were fondant. The yellow cake was frosted in vanilla butter cream.
My December got off to a busy start. I just finished my “special order cakes”, all 30 of them. This is my 4th year doing cakes for this customer. Some are decorated the same as last year but a few have new ideas. Since they were going to a lot of different people it was ok to repeat the designs. All the 9×13 sheet cakes were the same flavor, classic butter cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. Here are just a few pictures out of the 30. Â
Boy, I’m so glad to have this order behind me. It’s been a very long night & day. I had 20 to do. This is the third year that i have had the pleasure of doing these special cakes. The cakes are “thank you gift’s” for all the doctors that work with these nice people. It’s always great to get something sweet to eat. I am so glad they like my cakes.  Here are just a few of the cake designs this year. Some are repeats from years past. Cakes were 11×15 sheets, yellow butter with vanilla buttercream frosting.
