This cake went all the way to the outer banks of NC. I made the shells to be added to the cake when it was set up. So glad it made the trip with out problems. Another Betty had the job of placing all the shells and other decoration. Cake looks great Betty, nice job.

Ending July With A Bang

31 Jul

With July ending today I find I have a few cakes that I have not posted. Most are birthdays but the first 2 are for a young man and his friends having a special Scout celebration and later Richard gets to celebrate his birthday .

This was Richards birthday cake. He is a NC State fan.

A birthday celebration at the beach with chocolate sea shells.

Pink butter cream roses for Jean.

 A flamingo for Yvette

This one I had to correct the name spelling on before it was picked up but I had already taken the picture. I made the flamingo out of fondant.

Like Jewels from the Sea

4 Mar

I love making sea shells. These are made from melted white chocolate and are so good. I lightly brushed them with a little edible glitter (pink, lavender, gold etc) to give them a shine. The  9″ 3 layer butter cake is frosted in almond buttercream tinted a soft blue.

Wishes in a Bottle

4 Sep

I made this cake for one of my special customers. It was ordered by her husband. The bottle, the message (written on fondant) and lots of sea shells on the cake was his idea so that’s what I did. He was surprising her with a trip to the beach and wanted the cake to reflex that.  The flavor was there favorite, yellow butter cake with vanilla frosting. The sea shell were white chocolate.

A Beach Birthday

This will be a fun weekend for Christi, she’s celebrating her 40th birthday at one of our great beaches. The yellow butter cake (a 10″ 2 layer) was filled with raspberry buttercream and iced in vanilla butter cream . The sea shells I made from white chocolate and then brushed them with petal dust for added shine.
