It’s Triplet Time Again

11 Aug

Each year since the triplets have been born Grandmother Glenda has ordered special cakes for their birthdays. One large one for the family to enjoy and 3 smaller ones for each of the children. This year we went with mult colored dots and a monogram. Some of their cakes from past years can be found in the birthday category.

The monograms on each of the small cakes represents their name.

A Special Cake for Jennie

3 Aug

The first cake I made for the month of August was for one of my favorite customers. I have been making cakes for this whole family for many years and for lots of occasions so today they were celebrating Jennie’s 18th birthday. Always the same flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream, only the decorations change.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIE, from ME  !!!!

Hope you had a great day.

Ending July With A Bang

31 Jul

With July ending today I find I have a few cakes that I have not posted. Most are birthdays but the first 2 are for a young man and his friends having a special Scout celebration and later Richard gets to celebrate his birthday .

This was Richards birthday cake. He is a NC State fan.

A birthday celebration at the beach with chocolate sea shells.

Pink butter cream roses for Jean.

 A flamingo for Yvette

This one I had to correct the name spelling on before it was picked up but I had already taken the picture. I made the flamingo out of fondant.

A Red, White and Blue Cake

Not for the 4th of July but a Birthday on July 4th.

I’ve been making HU’s birthday cakes for quite some now and sometimes he wants another theme but most often its red, white and blue. I think some of them are posted here in the archives. The 9″ 3 layer cake is chocolate with vanilla butter cream frosting. Stars are fondant cut outs.

June Celebration Cakes

30 Jun

I can hardly believe June is gone. It seemed to go by so quickly. Haven’t had a lot of weddings this June but have had lots of birthday and other celebration cakes. Here are pictures of  just a few of them.

Bridal Luncheon Charm Cake

25 May

I always like making charm cakes and I have made quite a few. It’s fun seeing all the different charms that are chosen for the bridesmaids to pull. The 10″ yellow butter cake was filled with raspberry buttercream and iced in vanilla buttercream. The charms with green ribbon attached, were tucked under the flowers in the center.

Violets in 3 shades and a pink rose surrounded with swirls and dots completed the design.

Graduation Cakes

13 May

This weekend is filled with graduations all over the state, so my congratulations to all the graduates.

This cake was fun to do. They wanted a bear with a  hat for a male graduating from nursing school. I included a stethoscope and a clip board, all made from fondant. Lemon cake with lemon buttercream.

This one was for 2 young men graduating from Duke today. Flavor for this one was  yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream , a  family favorite.

Pretty In Pink

6 May

I think this one turned out really pretty, soft and romantic looking. Everything a wedding cake should be. I love the shades of the blush roses with a hint of a deeper color. Cake flavors were yellow butter with chocolate fudge filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. Simple but good. The sheet cakes that were added for extra servings were not filled,  just in case SOME people couldn’t eat chocolate. The reception was held at the Country Club Of  North Carolina.  Flowers by Aldena’s florist.

Miss Mary’s Birthday

29 Apr

Some call her Mamma, others call her Miss Mary, either one will be fine. Celebrating a 90th birthday is a special occasion.
