Annie is turning 96 today and the family was celebrating this wonderful occasion with a luncheon and a birthday cake from me.
The cake flavor, yellow butter with vanilla butter cream frosting. Cake design, a large piped ruffled heart surrounded with pink and white butter cream flowers.
The first cake I made for the month of August was for one of my favorite customers. I have been making cakes for this whole family for many years and for lots of occasions so today they were celebrating Jennie’s 18th birthday. Always the same flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream, only the decorations change.

I had only a few of the buttercream flowers leftover to decorate this cake with (it was a last minute order) but I like the way it turned out. It was made for one of my favorite customers and she loved it. Looks kinda like Easter. What do you think?
Cupcakes for Easter. Two flavors, yellow butter and chocolate with almond buttercream frosting. All the flowers are buttercream.
After starting out with one design in mind, this is what I ended up with. I was going to place pink dots all around the border and overlay with the flowers but I kinda like the way it looked with the dots just at the corners. Sometimes less is more. Flowers are buttercream and fondant.
I had the pleasure of making this baptism cake this weekend for a beautiful baby girl named Tully (pronounced 2-lee). Flavors were yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream. All the pink and white flowers and butterfly were made of fondant.
