Bridal Party Cake

26 Apr

Stripes and dots seems to be quite popular. The lime green and dark blue makes this cake stand out. I added a few flowers to the design. The message on top was something special just for the bride. Flavor, lemon cake with lemon buttercream frosting.

Kitchen Bridal Shower Cupcakes

10 Mar

Here are just a few of the cupcakes I made for today. Total number was 48. I really don’t mind making cupcakes, especially when I can do whatever I like for decorations. I made sugar flowers for some of them in different colors and since it was a kitchen shower I made tiny fondant rolling pins, wooden spoons, whisks and spatulas to go on top. I think they turned out well and my customer loved them too.

Lucky in Love Cake

4 Feb

This cake was for an engagement party with a gambling theme. All the red and black designs were cut from fondant, the Lucky 7 dice was also fondant. Cake flavor, marble with vanilla buttercream frosting. Good Luck and Best Wishes to Chuck and Karie.

Bridal Shower Cupcakes

4 Apr

Cupcakes seem to be the thing to serve at showers. I’ve made so many lately.  The flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla frosting. The flowers were air dried buttercream white daises with a spring green leaf. I like the way they turned out. Having white flowers really makes them perfect for a wedding shower.

Cupcakes for a Bride

18 Feb

With the weather a little warmer (at least here) people are thinking about the Spring wedding season and daisies always make me think of Spring. I made  40 lemon cupcakes for the bridal shower and iced them  in lemon frosting and topped each one with a yellow butter cream daisy. I sprinkled a little coarse granulated sugar in the center of each daisy to add a little sparkle.

Charm Cake and Pink Roses

4 Nov

It’s always fun to make one of these cakes. There are so many charms to choose from and each one has a special meaning. Some times people write their own meanings if they want to say something really personal that relates to the wedding party but most often they use the ones that come with the charms. Here the  charms are tied to ribbons and tucked under the pink roses on the top.  Cake flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla frosting the roses are buttercream and the tiny pink ones are fondant. Cake size 10″ round with a single 6″ on top. The cake was for a bridesmaid luncheon being held at Morehead City, NC.

Cake for Lunch

14 Oct

I made this cake for a bridesmaids luncheon to be held on Friday. I also have the wedding cake on Saturday the 16th. I squared off the cake for easy serving. The brown dots and coral color were copied from the party invitation. Flavors were yellow butter cake with vanilla /almond buttercream frosting.

Charm Pull Cake

16 Jan

There seems tobe a strong resurgences in the charm pull cakes. I love making them. The tiny charms, each with a special meaning, make a nice favor for the bridesmaids. Ribbons are attached to each charm for the bridesmaids to pull. Here, they are tucked in the center under the off white sugar roses. The ribbon cascades over the cake. Flavors were classic yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Silver and Pink Bridal Shower

4 Nov

Bridal Shower

The customer didn’t want a lot of decorations  but she did want it to look like a bridal cake. This is what i came up with. I made large & small fondant hearts dusted them with silver, the pink flowers were cut from fondant. I placed 2 small doves in the center and covered the rest with a lace design. Flavor was a classic butter cake with vanilla butter cream.
