Stripes and dots seems to be quite popular. The lime green and dark blue makes this cake stand out. I added a few flowers to the design. The message on top was something special just for the bride. Flavor, lemon cake with lemon buttercream frosting.
Kitchen Bridal Shower Cupcakes
10 Mar
Here are just a few of the cupcakes I made for today. Total number was 48. I really don’t mind making cupcakes, especially when I can do whatever I like for decorations. I made sugar flowers for some of them in different colors and since it was a kitchen shower I made tiny fondant rolling pins, wooden spoons, whisks and spatulas to go on top. I think they turned out well and my customer loved them too.

14 JanI have been making cakes for this couple for all types of occasions for such a long time and I was so happy I was asked to create a cake for this special celebration. Flavors were lemon butter cake with lemon buttercream frosting. The yellow roses were made from buttercream. The design a simple old-fashioned ruffle drape, topped with a 50th emblem and a gold ribbon bow.

Bridal Shower Cupcakes
4 AprCupcakes seem to be the thing to serve at showers. I’ve made so many lately. The flavor, yellow butter cake with vanilla frosting. The flowers were air dried buttercream white daises with a spring green leaf. I like the way they turned out. Having white flowers really makes them perfect for a wedding shower.
A Purple and White Cake
12 MarMarch 12th turned out to be a beautiful day for a wedding, bright and sunny. The evening reception was held at the Country Club of North Carolina. The wedding cake had two flavors, chocolate fudge and classic yellow butter cake frosted in vanilla buttercream. A purple ribbon surrounded each tier with a cascade of purple and white flowers down the front from top to bottom.
I also did 2 double layer 11×15 sheet cakes in the same flavors for extra servings.
The Grooms cake which was served at the rehearsal dinner at Forest Creek Club House, was shaped like a tooth (the groom was a dentist). At least I hoped it looked like a tooth, I’ve never made one before. After looking at many designs, this is what I made. The flavor was Red Velvet with cream cheese filling and frosted in vanilla buttercream. I made the tools (picks etc ) out of fondant.
