Red and black was the color theme for this wedding.

Large beautiful silk roses supplied by the bride lay on each tier and black ribbon surrounded the layers. Topped with a “ K ” monogram was the finishing touch. Cake flavor, yellow butter cake filled with raspberry buttercream and iced in lemon buttercream.

The reception was held at the beautiful Little River Country Club.

Hair Salon Cupcakes

3 Nov

   Lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream.

I’m glad I only had a dozen of these to make. Making all the little things ( hand molded from fondant) to go on top was a little crazy but I do like how they turned out and my friend loved them too.

Ending July With A Bang

31 Jul

With July ending today I find I have a few cakes that I have not posted. Most are birthdays but the first 2 are for a young man and his friends having a special Scout celebration and later Richard gets to celebrate his birthday .

This was Richards birthday cake. He is a NC State fan.

A birthday celebration at the beach with chocolate sea shells.

Pink butter cream roses for Jean.

 A flamingo for Yvette

This one I had to correct the name spelling on before it was picked up but I had already taken the picture. I made the flamingo out of fondant.

A Red, White and Blue Cake

4 Jul

Not for the 4th of July but a Birthday on July 4th.

I’ve been making HU’s birthday cakes for quite some now and sometimes he wants another theme but most often its red, white and blue. I think some of them are posted here in the archives. The 9″ 3 layer cake is chocolate with vanilla butter cream frosting. Stars are fondant cut outs.

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY HU AND HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!

Bridal Luncheon Charm Cake

25 May

I always like making charm cakes and I have made quite a few. It’s fun seeing all the different charms that are chosen for the bridesmaids to pull. The 10″ yellow butter cake was filled with raspberry buttercream and iced in vanilla buttercream. The charms with green ribbon attached, were tucked under the flowers in the center.

Violets in 3 shades and a pink rose surrounded with swirls and dots completed the design.

70 and Counting

24 May

This cake was made for a fun occasion, a class reunion with a few friends all turning 70 in the month of May. A yellow butter cake filled with a luscious raspberry buttercream and frosted in almond buttercream. Cake size a 10″ 2 layer. Flowers were buttercream, the 70 was fondant. Flowers around the cake top edge were piped lily of the valley.

Sugar Flowers

4 Apr

As you can see this is how I spent my Wednesday afternoon. I’m getting ready for Easter. I have sheet cakes and cupcakes to do and they need lots of flowers. I like to make a rainbow of colors and types of  flowers. They are buttercream so I let them air dry till I can pick them up and place where I want them on the cakes/cupcakes. I’ll post the cakes later.

           Have a Happy Easter !!!

Lucky in Love Cake

4 Feb

This cake was for an engagement party with a gambling theme. All the red and black designs were cut from fondant, the Lucky 7 dice was also fondant. Cake flavor, marble with vanilla buttercream frosting. Good Luck and Best Wishes to Chuck and Karie.
