Graduation Cakes

           This weekend is filled with graduations all over the state, so my congratulations to all the graduates.

 This cake was fun to do. They wanted a bear with a  hat for a male graduating from nursing school. I included a stethoscope and a clip board, all made from fondant. Lemon cake with lemon buttercream.

 

  This one was for 2 young men graduating from Duke today. Flavor for this one was  yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream , a  family favorite.

Both cakes are the same flavor, yellow butter with vanilla buttercream. On cake #2 I molded black boots from fondant and placed them on camo. Eli is joining the National Guard and off to “boot camp” after graduation.Good Luck Eli !!

Celebrating a graduation calls for a cake even if it’s from grade school or college. 

A Tiered Graduation Cake

This was a different type design for me to do for a graduation cake, not the usual sheet cake. With bright colors, stars, stripes, and circles and a monogram it was a hit with everyone. Flavors were yellow butter cake with vanilla buttercream.

A UNC Tarheel

Well, it’s graduation time again and Kate, her parents, and many friends  are celebrating her achievement with a party  and everyone  knows you need cake for a party. I made a 12×18 sheet cake with a small 6″ cut at an angle to go on the top to hold the “blue foot” and the 2009 (brushed with gold dust) which was cut out of fondant. The flavor is classic butter cake  with vanilla butter cream frosting and butter cream flowers.

                         CONGRATULATIONS  !!! KATE
