Kristen and Brian’s wedding day started out gray and very wet. A light rain was falling when I delivered their cake. The wedding and the reception were to be at the same location. Guest arrived early because of the rain so I had a small audience while I assembled the cake. Her colors were hot pink and black. The cake flavor was marble with two of the tiers filled with chocolate fudge butter cream, the other, vanilla butter cream. Black and hot pink ribbon circled each tier with fresh pink rose petals scattered about. Two hearts entwined graced the top tier.
The grooms cake served at the rehearsal dinner.
Here are a few pictures of the reception location.

The only request for this cake was for it to be “blue”. I made fondant stars in gold, silver, black & blue, attached them to wires and molded a 60, then dusted it gold. The top cake a 6″ round was cut at an angle to hold the numbers and did you notice the blue tar heel “foot”. Just a little something extra for a Carolina fan. The 11×15 sheet cake was marble with vanilla butter cream.
Note: I understand the cake was quite a hit with the party guest.
Sometimes it’s a bit hard to come up with a design for a 85 year old man. The request was for a chocolate cake , chocolate frosting and yellow and blue decorations. I added a 6″ round cake on top of the 11×15 sheet cake so i could drape the roses and added fondant stars in shades of blue. The stars were on wires to give a since of movement and to give a little height to the cake.
Princess cakes are so much fun, you can make them as “girly” as you like with lots of frills. This one, a 10″ classic yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream. I made bright pink roses in varing shades, wrapped the base of the cake in pink ribbon to match the roses and piped dots on the sides with touches of lavender here and there. The wand was handmade from fondant, the star I cut with a cookie cutter and was brushed with silver dust, the handle rolled and brushed with gold dust, a small silver bow added to the handle. The Tiara was purchased.
Note: The Mother was so pleased when she saw the cake saying “that’s exactly what I wanted, a very girly cake” and of course that made ME a very happy cake decorator.
This is such a popular theme for a party cake but it’s my first high school musical that i’ve been asked to do. I searched the web for ideas, found a few but finally came up with this. The candle was provided by the Mother, so i tried to match those colors. The stars and H M S are fondant brushed with pearl dust for an added sparkle. The picture was a small poster that i laminated. The cake flavor is my old stand by and their favorite, yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream. The grandmother picked up the cake and was very pleased with what i had been able to do, she also said i might be getting more orders for this theme. Hurrah !!!!!
The day started out with rain but even that didn’t dampen Jared and Erin wedding celebration. It began with an early morning wedding and ended with a lovely evening reception.
The wedding cake flavors were classic yellow butter with vanilla butter cream frosting. Each tier was covered with a simple dot pattern and wrapped with a bright pink ribbon. Fresh pink roses were placed on the top and on the other tiers of the cake.
The smaller cake to the side was the same flavor topped with a cute Mickey and Minnie Mouse ornament. Mickey and Minnie were included because they hold special memories for the bride and groom.

I was asked to do a cake with a yoga theme for a lady. Well I don’t do yoga so I went to the computer to look for yoga positions and this was one that i thought i could use. I don’t do a lot of sculpting from fondant but i think it turned out OK. The client was very pleased. The flavor a yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream frosting, fondant and butter cream flowers.
This was made for a little girls 4th birthday she wanted her cake to be pink and with a mermaid. Cake flavor was yellow butter cake with vanilla butter cream. I made lots of fondant flowers in many colors and fashioned an open shell of fondant to hold a pearl to go along with the mermaid figure i found in my local Dollar Tree store. It was a big hit with the birthday girl and everyone at the party.
